ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Ministry is structured into six departments for effective performance, each headed by a Director. The departments are:
- Administration and Supplies.
- Finance and Accounts.
- Planning, Research and Statistics.
- Women Affairs.
- Social Welfare.
- Child Welfare.
DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND SUPPLIES
The department comprises the Open and Secret Registries and the Storehouse & is responsible for the following:
- General Administration of human and material resources of the Ministry.
- Handling Establishment matters of the Ministry.
- Acting as Secretariat of the Ministry’s Senior and Junior Personnel Management Boards (PMB’S).
- Formulation and advising on policy matters.
- Handling issues regarding appointments, promotion, discipline, training and staff welfare.
- Maintenance of vehicles, office furniture and equipment.
- Purchases and supplies.
- Taking minutes of meetings.
- General custody of Ministry’s properties and documents.
DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS
The department comprises the Open and Secret Registries and the Storehouse & is responsible for the following:
- Custody of the Finances of the Ministry;
- Keeping all financial records and transactions of the Ministry;
- Preparations of staff salaries and other entitlements;
- Rendering monthly, quarterly and annual returns on all expenditures to the Ministry of Finance;
- Advising the Ministry on Financial matters;
